Hi, I have really big problem. Could you please help me? My mac book pro had a lost firmware problem. I was using this mac because the firmware password wasn’t a block for using the machine. I just wasn’t using the startup boot option on the computer.
A day, I wanted to do disk repair but for disk repair I needed startup from recovery HD but I wan’t starting from recovery because the firmware password was lost. I putted your command to terminal
“To change the startup disk type the following in Terminal:
sudo bless -mount /Volumes/”name of your startup disk” -setBoot”
and created a bootable Mac OS USB installation flash. I used a name “mac” for command and name of the usb than restarted pc. Result was puffff, mac dead, there is no any boot from USB even existing installed hard drive (because I think we changed it with the command)
Now, there is just a folder symbol with question mark on startup. I can’t choice any boot option because the firmware password still lost. I am working in Iraq and there is no any apple authorized dealer for removing the password from my computer.
I tried boot with CD, usb and other startup keyboard command but result is negative still same. Do you know any any hidden method for starting from the USB or any other way for opening the disk utility for fixing the startup problem. This is too important because I need to use the computer for my work.
Regards…
